IHG Taichung|Embroidered Screen

Designed for the Chinese restaurant at the InterContinental Taichung, the embroidered screen, captures a bird's-eye view of everyday life on Taichung's Calligraphy Greenway as seen through the treetops. The design incorporates Taichung's symbolic elements—such as the five-leaf pine, mountain cherry blossoms, and white-eared sibias—into its layout. The composition blends scenes from ancient and contemporary life, infusing modern day moments with a touch of classical elegance. From a distance, it evokes the timeless charm of traditional Eastern floral and bird paintings, while up close, it reveals the vibrancy of present-day life. The intricate and captivating embroidery brings the entire screen to life with mesmerizing detail.
